STANLEY RACECOURSE

Stanley is the capital of the Falkland Islands and has a population of barely 2,000 inhabitants. It can be found on the island of East Falkland. On the west of the capital is the racecourse which has existed for over 100 years.

Stanley races are held for two days annually, with meetings taking place on Boxing Day and 27th December. Near the racecourse are two landmarks; the Battle of the Falklands Memorial and the wreck of an old sailing barque named Jhelum.
